There is seemingly no end to the long list of health benefits avocado is capable of delivering, making it truly one of the best fruits on the planet. Yes, the versatile avocado is a fruit, being one of the very care fatty fruits found on the planet. From its utility in numerous recipes, to its creamy and delicious taste, everyone can benefit from increasing their consumption of avocado.
Did you know that the word Avocado actually originated from the Nahuatl language spoken by the Aztecs and meant testicle? If you stop to think of it, there is a reason to this, as we will mention below.
15 Impressive Health Benefits of Avocado
Avocado health benefits
1. Avocado Can Function As Aphrodisiacs
Yes, as was briefly mentioned above, the word avocado originated from the Aztec people and meant testicle. The reason behind this? Avocados were believed to be strong aphrodisiacs. Even though they are not true aphrodisiacs in the sense of the word, they were definitely on to something. Avocados are rich in saturated fat, which is important in the synthesis of testosterone. It is no coincidence that modern diets that seek to actively restrict fat intake coincide with lowest testosterone levels, and with it, low sex drive. So indirectly, avocados are indeed aphrodisiacs.
2. Hold Promise In Treating Arthritis
Chronic osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis are both debilitating diseases that cause extreme discomfort to individuals that suffer from them. Though over the counter pain medication can offer short term relief from symptoms, they can hardly be considered a permanent solution. Enter the ever willing avocado, in whom a compound was found that could help offer relief from pain and inflammation of arthritic conditions. Though it is unclear how much you need to consume to see these effects, having an avocado per day could also support your efforts to relieve pain, as fat can help to cushion the tissue between joints.
3. Helps With Diabetes Management
Diabetes control is tough, with not many foods offering decent support. Many people try to find better carbohydrate sources, but often that alone is insufficient. However, avocados are not your average carbohydrate heavy fruit, as they contain lots of good fat, which acts to slow the absorption of sugar into the blood stream. Since type 2 diabetics also have poor insulin sensitivities, it is a good course of action to slow down the speed of absorption to allow insulin a greater time to process the carbs.
4. Promote Skin Health
If you think you suffer from dry skin, or think your skin health could be better, avocados can become your best friends. Avocados are loaded with skin friendly fats, and the antioxidant vitamin C and vitamin E. vitamin C is also involved in the synthesis of collagen, ensuring that skin is kept looking healthy and supple for years to come. Fat in avocados help reinforce the structural barrier of the skin, so that moisture is not lost at a fast rate.
5. Avocados Can Help You Lose Weight
We all can probably do with a little bit of weight loss, so every single thing helps. When it comes to fat, many people are scared, and misinformed. Fats will not necessarily cause you to gain weight, even though they yield more calories per gram when compared with the other macronutrients. Avocados, however, can help reduce your appetite and suppresses your overall caloric intake over the course of the day. Plus, when included in meals, you are likely to be satisfied for a far long time, opposed to having a meal without ample fat.
6. Avocados Are Fiber Rich
Many people fail to get enough fiber in their diets today, for one reason or another. Frequently, it occurs as a result of eating too many processed foods, and not consuming enough whole foods. If you dislike vegetables, there is still hope. Avocados contain both of the essential fiber; soluble and insoluble. Soluble fiber plays an important role in supporting the microbiome of our gut, while insoluble fiber helps support regularity. Both have important roles to play, so it is important that you get both every day.
7. Can Improve Cholesterol Profiles
Though eating a poor diet, compounded with low quality fats and sugars is the fast way to developing heart disease, not all fats are bad. In fact, fats are essential and necessary for good health, including the health of your heart, and keeping cholesterol values normal. Regular consumption of avocados help to improve the good aspect of your cholesterol, known as HDL, and lower the aspects that you want to keep down, such as LDL and triglycerides. If you suffer from hyperlipidemia, it is a good idea to consume healthy fats such as avocados, while simultaneously reducing artificial fats and carbohydrates to see maximal benefit.
8. Bolster Absorption of Plant Based Nutrients
Though fruits and vegetables are extremely rich in nutrients, did you know that they can be sabotaged? Yes, in fact they have a built in sabotage mechanism, in the form of fiber. Though fiber is an important part of your diet, it can become troublesome when it impairs absorption of the numerous phytochemicals found in plant foods. The best way to counter this? Consume good fat. By doing so, the fat acts as a carrier molecule, helping transport fat soluble nutrients that would have otherwise gone to waste. This explains the very common scenario of nutrient deficiency that occurs in people who restrict fat intake, or are on primarily vegan diets.
9. Good for Improving Eye Health
Avocados boost absorption of nutrients that are important to good health, but are also rich in the eyes’ preferred anti-oxidants, lutein and zeaxanthin. These anti-oxidants have demonstrated the ability to reduce the development of cataracts, slow down degeneration of the muscles and nerves of the eyes, and can improve night vision. These become even more important the older we get.
10. Contain Essential Folic Acid
Folic acid is important for DNA replication in all humans, but is even more important during pregnancy. It is advised that all women consume a supplement enhanced with folic acid, but avocados are an excellent source. Folic acid helps prevent the development of deformities in the womb, such as a condition called spina bifida.
11. Promote Healthy Liver Function
The liver is one of your most important organs. Even though it is self-regenerating, that does not mean that you can take it for granted. The best way to support your hard working liver is to help it function optimally. Avocados can help reduce symptoms of fatty liver disease that are caused by elevated cholesterol and blood triglycerides as well. In addition, avocados can boost synthesis of the body’s most powerful anti-oxidant glutathione to help safeguard you from free radicals.
12. Avocados Can Prevent Bad Breath
Avocados contain flavonoids which combat bacterial and fungal overgrowth in the mouth, effectively reducing the likelihood of halitosis occurring. In that same vein, they can also help prevent festering of mouth ulcers.
13. Promote Healing of Wounds
Avocados can help speed up the healing of wounds, by modulating immune system activity. Ensuring that recruitment occurs in a timely fashion helps overall healing by cutting down recovery time.
14. Avocado Can Promote Good Mood
Thanks once again to its folic acid density, avocados can counter the effects of the compound homocysteine. Homocysteine depletes production of dopamine and serotonin, neurotransmitters which promote sense of well-being.
15. Promote Bone Health
Bone tissue requires the minerals calcium, zinc, magnesium, potassium and Vitamin D and Vitamin K for proper formation. Avocados contain all these nutrients, but in particular Vitamin K, which is not found in many foods. Regular consumption of avocados, along with exercise, will promote healthy bone density.</a>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00788063622943622685noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5068585139433037043.post-20404778010805098042018-04-13T04:34:00.001-07:002018-04-13T04:34:17.656-07:00How Your Cells Use Light to Communicate<a href="http://www.wakingtimes.com/2018/04/12/how-your-cells-use-light-to-communicate/?utm_source=Waking+Times+Newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=6953754a5e-RSS_EMAIL_CAMPAIGN&utm_term=0_25f1e048c1-6953754a5e-54531445">HOW YOUR CELLS USE LIGHT TO COMMUNICATE

“Your body is woven from the light of Heaven.” ~Rumi
Have you ever wondered what makes the difference between a living and non-living process? What makes us “alive” instead of just machines or robots acting out commands? What is the life force, or what ancient philosophers called the “animus”? It is light, and this is the fundamental method by which your cells and DNA communicate.
After all, a cell contains the same components when it is alive and when it is dead. The same molecules and structures are there, but what gives the cell life? What allows an average human being to become the accumulation of 10 trillion cells communicating in a precise way every second to every molecule in our bodies?
What’s more, every few seconds more than 10 million cells die, and in order to prevent entropic decay, more cells must be created to sustain our life force. Make no mistake. This is a massive undertaking. A mere machine could never pull it off. This is also why so many drugs fail to heal the body, because they do not work at the level of light – the speed of light, more specifically.
Chemical messaging to orchestrate this incredible show would be far too slow. Russian scientist, Alexander Gurwitsch, a contemporary of Vladimir Vernadsky and Fritz Alfred Popp have all pointed to the need for cells to be able to communicate at the speed of light for our bodies to even function.
“We are still on the threshold of fully understanding the complex relationship between light and life, but we can now say emphatically, that the function of our entire metabolism is dependent on light.” ~Dr. Fritz Albert Popp
It was Alexander Gurwitsch who, while working on onion roots in his lab 1923, discovered that the roots could stimulate a neighboring plant’s roots if the two adjacent plants were in quartz glass pots. The same effect did not happen if the plants were contained in silicon. It turned out that the quartz filtered certain UV wavelengths that the silicon did not, thus allowing communication between biological entities.
Popp later experimented with UV light to further understand what Gurwitsch had discovered. Performing 37 different tests on chemicals – some that caused cancer and some that did not.
In every instance, the compounds that he found to be carcinogenic took the UV light, absorbed it and changed or scrambled the frequency. This is what happens to our DNA when we eat poor quality food, are repeatedly subjected to negative emotions, listen to DNA-harming music, television, etc. or even endure an onslaught of chemical toxicity in our air, water, and soil due to corporate polluting. These elements scramble or confuse the light signals being communicated by our cells.
What Popp also found was that these cancer-causing compounds all had one thing in common. Each of the carcinogens reacted only to light at a specific frequency — 380 nm (nanometres) in the ultra-violet range. Popp was curious as to why light could act as a scrambler of information, until he discovered that it could also repair cells.
Specifically, Popp discovered that Ultraweak Photon Emission (UPE) or Biophoton Emission (BPE) refers to the phenomenon of constant and spontaneous emission of light from all biological systems including humans due to metabolic activities, without excitation or enhancement.
This occurs in the visible and UV part of the electromagnetic spectrum at very low intensities, on the order of 10-16 – 10-18 W/cm2.
The coherent emission of bio-photons is connected to energy and information transfer processes in any biological organism, and has been linked to the function of DNA and gene regulation.
Reprogramming your DNA is about allowing coherent electromagnetic communication to happen within your own biology and the living, breathing Intelligence of the Universe. By choking your cells with pharmaceutical drugs, depression medication, or even highly processed, genetically modified food, you are inhibiting speed-of-light communication between the perfect fractal universe and your body.
The repair of DNA and therefore, your cells, is all about allowing coherent light to regulate biorhythms, homeostasis, and every single metabolic process in your body. Those 10 trillion cells know what they are doing. Your DNA already understands perfectly how to communicate correctly, all that is needed is to take that which impedes this communication out of the picture. Get the picture?

In what could possibly be the world’s largest agricultural feat, Canadian farmer Travis Heide is in the process of converting his 40,000-acre farm entirely to organic.
Heide’s farm is large enough to produce 2,200,000 bushels of wheat per year. Although he has been mostly quiet about his transition to organic, his company Organics Canada Ltd. is set to boom as he will begin producing oats, lentils, peas, wheat and hemp all organically.
Currently, the farm is half-organic and half-conventionally grown, but by 2020 Travis plans to convert his entire farm to organic.
“We’ll be 75 percent organic in 2019, and if we don’t add anything else, in 2020 we’ll be 100 percent organic.” ~Travis Heide
The size and ambition of his operation is even more impressive considering Heide just started farming full-time in 2014.
“I have never heard of anything like that…The biggest one I’ve heard of before is maybe 20,000 [acres].” ~Laura Telford, Organic Development Specialist, Manitoba Agriculture
In his early years, Travis grew up working on his parents’ farm near Moosomin, Saskatchewan, with his four younger brothers. He later earned a business degree from the University of Saskatchewan and soon thereafter took a job with a commodity trading firm and eventually started his own grain trading company.
When Heide’s father decided to retire from farming, he offered his sons to take over his farm. However, they each declined and he ended up selling the family farm, only for Heide to later move to South Sudan, Africa, to start his own.
When Travis moved back to Canada he met Robert Andjelic, a Businessman in Calgary, who asked him to manage about 7,000 acres of farmland near Waldron and Whitewood, which he seeded with the help of his brother Garret.
“He puts his nose to the grindstone… He doesn’t give up until the job is done. That’s what impressed me.” ~Robert Andjelic
After buying another parcel of land around Stockholm, Heide was asked to manage it, but decided instead to farm organically because the land wasn’t previously tainted by the use of pesticides or chemical fertilizer.
When Travis is finished converting his farm to organic, it will likely become the largest organic farm in Canada and North America, nearly out doing the entire province of Manitoba, which has about 50,000 acres of farmland dedicated to organic agriculture.
Heide soon realized that growing organically was far more economical than growing conventionally.
“Conventional doesn’t make sense unless you have the best land in the area… In organic, our costs were far lower, and because the value was up there, it just made sense.” ~Travis Heide
His three daughters and wife Amy Heide keep him inspired to work hard and make a difference by providing people with healthy, organic food.
“I remember saying, ‘you can’t do it just because of money. You have to believe in it in order for it to work.” ~Amy Heide
Whether that argument convinced Travis is beside the point because although he says it modestly, what he wants to communicate with this project is that the status quo that you can’t mass produce organic crops has been broken.
“There’s a whole bunch of status quos these days: you can’t start a farm from scratch nowadays, you can’t do a large organic farm because there’s too much tillage…[But] if we can create opportunity for other people, create employment … that’s what we’re excited about.” ~Travis Heide
As Heide continues with his venture to create the largest farm of sustainable, organic crops, he is slowly creating a future where the best practices of mass organic food production can be discovered and people can have greater access to food that is better for their health and the environment.

With the vast array of weight loss diets around, and the numerous supplements available, does anyone even care if anything makes organic food better for you? Organic foods are becoming more prevalent and showing up in all sorts of stores from farmer’s markets to big box retail stores. While organic foods are often purchased at a higher cost due to the health claims that are tied to these food items, many question whether organic foods are healthier than other food options. There is still much debate on this and many different factors that impact the decision of whether or not you should purchase organic food or stick with other forms of food. Many of these factors are hotly contested as well as the reasonableness of defining what organic food is. What Is Organic Food? Organic food is food that is grown without the use of pesticides, irradiation, and other artificial substances. Having said that, the designation of what is organic will vary significantly from country to country and, generally speaking, food that is grown by an individual is not considered to be organic, even if no pesticides are used to grow it, due to the lack of regulation surrounding it. While organic food may need to be defined when it is resold, a looser interpretation of what is organic involves food grown without using pesticides, artificial hormones, and sometimes not using genetically modified ingredients as part of the growing process. Differing Views on Nutrition The world is very split on reaching their nutritional needs. While portions of the third world experience problems receiving a minimal number of calories per day, portions of the first world nations often suffer from the health side effects of too many calories which can result in being overweight, having heart diseases, and other weight-related illnesses like gout. People in each of these extremes have differing views on the food that they consume. One group is often concerned with increasing their calories while the other is looking to reduce their calories and is less concerned with having nutritional shortfalls. Studies, to date, have not shown that there is a difference between the nutritional content of organic and non-organic food. In other words, foods will contain the same calories, nutrients, and vitamin whether they are organic or not. As such, the lack of additional nutritional benefits that first world nations receive from organic food is not the primary concern for eating it, while in third world nations the increased cost, lower yield, and lack of additional calories would be a concern. Understanding the perspective of each group will help to better analyze if organic food is healthy for individuals and there are likely different responses to this question depending on who you are. While many will indicate that organic food may not have added health benefits or ill health effects, if organic food reduces the quantity of food that you consume due to lower yield and higher cost, this can have positive or negative health effects depending on whether you are over or underweight. Long-Term Impact of Pesticides and Hormones The major health benefit that many people cite as relating to organic food is not due to the improved nutrition of food, but rather in the absence of substances like pesticides and added hormones that can harm your health. The challenge for scientists attempting to understand how damaging these substances are, and therefore how beneficial organic alternatives are, is the lack of consensus on the long-term impact of these substances. Some pesticides have been banned both for the negative impact it has on the environment as well as for the chance that they will prove to be cancerous to those who eat foods treated with these pesticides. While the other alternative pesticides are deemed to not have the same ill effects on your health as the banned ones, science often identifies new risks and problems as it learns more about the impact of these substances and chemicals on the human body. While organic food has a longer track record for judgment, non-organic food as treated with varying pesticides and hormones have a shorter track record and may prove to be harmful to our health. Giving hormones to animals who are then consumed (directly or indirectly (cheese or milk) may also impact your health, particularly impacting children during their growth stages. The impact that this has and how positive or negative is unknown but may be linked to rising rates or allergies, hormonal imbalances, and cancer. Many believe that hormonal problems lead to imbalances in their energy levels as well resulting in hyperactivity or sedateness. Many people understand this and decide to only eat organic foods as a result. But is organic food better? While organic foods may not ultimately be healthier, they come with lower health risks and can dispel the concern that many have for the ingredients that can potentially impact our long-term health. Varying Impact by Food Group Of course, the impact that the pesticides and hormones have on food will greatly vary based on the food item itself. It is often considered to be safer to eat non-organic foods with thicker skins that you don’t eat, like a pumpkin or gourd, than fruits or vegetables with thinner skins that may more easily absorb the chemicals and pesticides like berries or peaches. While organic food is not thought to be unhealthy, unless it is leading to lower calorie consumption for those who are lacking in calories, the health benefits of eating only organic are somewhat unproven, partly as non-organic foods have a shorter history. Organic eating is the safer way to eat healthily and many believe it can greatly enhance your long-term health and energy levels.<a href="http://girlsjustwannahavebling.co.uk/">

Aloevera (Aloe barbadensis) is a popular medicinal plant. It belongs to liliaceae family. It is a perennial plant, growing to the hight of 1½ - 2½ ft. Its leaves are long and thick, juicy with a wheel like phylotaxy. The two sides of the leaves have thorny structure with a thorny tip. The inner substance of the leaves is jelly like, with bad odour and bitter in taste. The length of the leaves ranges from 25-30 cm., while the breadth ranges from 3-5 cm. Normally it flowers during October to January and the long inflorescence has a large number of small pink flowers all around. Fruits are developed during February to April. It is normally not propagated through seeds. Vegetative propagation is easy and convenient. Of late, because of sky rocketing price of allopathic medicines with its known side effects, medicinal plants and ayurvedic medicines are becoming popular. World trade worth about 80 million US$ dollars exists now and this is likely to increase by 35-40 percent within 5 years. USA dominates the market (65%) while India and China have a share of 10 percent each which could be enhanced by its commercial cultivation.
Soil and Climate
Aloe vera is found to grow in hot humid and high rainfall conditions. It is grown in all kind of soils but well drained soil with high organic matter, is most suitable. It grows well in bright sun light. Shady conditions results in disease infestation It is highly sensitive to water stagnation. Therefore, well drained high land should be selected for its cultivation. A rainfall ranging from 1000 – 1200 mm is ideal for aloevera cultivation. Seedling Preparation and Planting Since it is difficult to grow aloevera from seeds, seedlings are normally raised from roots of the plants. Sucker itself can be used as seedlings as in Banana. Rainy season is ideal for sucker plantation. A spacing of 1.5 x 1 ft, 1 ft x 2 ft or 2 ft x 2 ft is followed. Land Preparation About 2-3 ploughings and laddering are done to make the soil weed free and friable. Land leveling is then followed. Along the slope, 15-20 ft apart drainage are made.
Application of Plant Nutrients
Before land preparation, about 8-10 tonnes FYM/ ha is applied. Before the last ploughing, 35 kg N, 70 kg P 20 5, and 70 kg K2 0/ha are added. For controlling termites, 350-400 kg Neem Cake / ha may be applied . In September - October about 35-40 kg N as top dressing may be applied. If the soil is rich in organic matter, N dose can be reduced.
Irrigation and Interculture
After 40 days or so weeding and earthing up are done. Earthing up is also practiced after top dressing of fertiliser. Aloe vera is slightly tolerant to drought, but very sensitive to water stagnation. Therefore, proper drainage is more important than irrigation. As per need light irrigation during drought is enough.
Plant Protection
Aloe vera is infested by various insets and pests. Special care is needed for their control in medicinal plants like aloevera where the juice of the leaves are directly taken as medicine. Clean cultivation, interculture operation, regular and need based irrigation, application of adeguate organic manure, treatment of suker before planting, and cultivation of aloevera in sunny conditions are conducive for healthy growth of the aloe vera crop. Use of organic source of plant protection materials like raw garlic juice, neem oil (10,000 ppm) 2-3 ml / lit, tobacco extractant 20 ml / lit gave reasonably good result.
Yield
Harvesting of leaves starts after 7-8 months of planting. Sharp knife is used for harvesting. Care has to be taken to reduce the loss of juice from the cut portion. If harvesting is done once in a year, October - November are the best period for harvesting. Second year gives maximum yield and for about 4-5 years good yield could be harvested . After harvesting leaves are dried in shade and then in sun before storages. Flowers are collected in December - January and preserved after proper drying. Yearly 100 - 115 quintals raw leaves and 350 - 400 kg flowers / ha are obtained (3).
Medicinal Quality
Both the juice of leaves and flowers are used as medicine, but medicines are prepared from leaves. Intake of juice of leave, improves hunger, and helps in digestion. Juice when mixed with sugar cures cough and cold. Besides these, it also cures nervous weakness, asthma, Jaundice, etc. The leaf flesh (about 7-Sg) mixed with honey, taken in morning and evening cures constipation. Besides, it is good medicine for many other diseases.
It contains various organic compounds which ci1res diseases. Of these, the main use is aloine. Besides, these it contains 12 types of vitamin, 20 kinds of amino acids, 20 kinds of minerals, 200 different types of polysaccharides, and various kinds of glycol- protein which are used for human health. Alaine A, and Alaine B, are principles of the ayurvedic medicine (3).
Economics
Expenditure to be incurred for Aloe vera cultivation normally amounts to about Rs.1,10,000 / ha. The expected income with a yield of about 110 - 115 quintal would be about Rs. 340,000/ha. The net profit would be about Rs.230,000 /ha/year. In addition to monetary benefit, social benefit would be anormous. Better management can results in much higher income and net profit.</a>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00788063622943622685noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5068585139433037043.post-48097810972841937872018-01-21T23:32:00.001-08:002018-01-21T23:32:47.186-08:00NowThis Food Like This Page · January 19 · Everything You Need to Know About Jackfruit This bizarre-looking fruit perfectly mimics pulled pork 7,802,854 Views Oscar del Rosario Like Show more reactions Comment Share Top Comments 26K 26K 100,694 Shares 8.9K Comments Comments Jo Lilley Jo Lilley I'd try it. The term superfoods may have become a bit overused lately, but there are some foods that truly fit the description. One that should definitely be on the superfoods list is a fairly obscure plant (until now!) called jackfruit.
This oddly named fruit, which is cultivated in tropical regions, is rapidly gaining in popularity worldwide for several reasons – not the least of which are its amazing health-boosting properties.
Jackfruit contains a number of substances which make it an extremely healthy addition to your diet. It's rich in flavonoids, antioxidants, phytonutrients and vitamin C, which make it an excellent ally for cancer prevention and treatment through its boosting of the immune system.
The high levels of potassium found in jackfruit help lower blood pressure, aiding in the prevention of strokes and heart disease. Jackfruit is good for the skin and the eyes, due to its high vitamin A content.
Jackfruit aids in digestion and helps protect the colon by cleansing the large intestine, and its high fiber content make it a great natural laxative.
Low in calories and almost completely fat-free, jackfruit can also aid in fighting obesity. Even eating large quantities won't cause stomach discomfort, so it can help you feel full without adding those extra pounds.
Jackfruit and diabetes
One of the most powerful health benefits associated with jackfruit is its ability to fight diabetes. This potential of the fruit is just beginning to be fully explored, in part because the best way to use jackfruit for diabetes is to consume the unripe fruit, which is not a common practice outside of the regions where it is grown.
Jack Joseph of JackFruit365.com, a website that promotes and sells jackfruit products, stumbled upon the nearly miraculous diabetes-fighting properties of raw jackfruit when he heard a story from a friend that involved a medical emergency – one which luckily didn't kill anyone and ended up having a silver lining:
[Joseph's friend] developed diabetes seven years ago while he was in charge of rebuilding a church and he feels the stress related to the project was the major cause for an otherwise healthy life style he had. For the past seven years he is on insulin and takes the injection every day after dinner. A month ago he had the traditional Kerala Jackfruit meal prepared with unripe raw jackfruit pods as dinner, as he had a guest very fond of jackfruits. After the meal they continued to chat for an hour and he took his insulin once the guest left. Within minutes he collapsed to the floor. He somehow crawled up to reach the sugar sachet from the bedside table and for the first time in six years he had to use the emergency response his doctor had advised in case if he feels hypoglycaemic.
When the friend ate raw jackfruit a second time, the same thing happened, prompting Joseph to start investigating. What he found after talking to health experts was that raw jackfruit can reduce or even eliminate the need for insulin injections. As further stated on JackFruit365.com:
Conclusion: Consumption of mature unripe jackfruit can reduce insulin dependency on patients due to:
1. Low glycemic index
2. High dietary fiber especially insoluble fiber
3. Possible to eat large quantity as a meal and satiate a hungry diabetic patient
In addition jackfruit is Gluten Free and can be a silver bullet for diabetic patients with Gluten allergy
If you are a diabetic taking insulin, be sure to consult with your doctor before eating raw jackfruit.

companion planting design
Did you know that tomatoes hate cucumbers?
While they might taste great together in a salad, tomato plants actually dislike growing in close proximity to any member of the curcurbit family, which includes cucumbers.
Tomatos love carrots and basil, however – so planting these together will actually make them each grow more vigorously!
Sounds hokey? The idea that some plants and plant families are “friends” with others and grow better together is called companion planting, and it’s been around since the dawn of food cultivation.
Check out this Companion Planting book on Amazon!

Planting your veggies in neat rows with labels is satisfying to the eye, and easier to harvest. However, when we look to nature, we don’t see rows anywhere, nor do plants all grow clumped up in groups of the same thing together.
Mimicking nature’s biodiversity might make your garden look messy, but it’s been proven to help each individual plant to grow better. Plants in a polyculture are more resilient and tend to have fewer losses from insects or disease.
Things like carrots, dill, parsley, and parsnip will attract praying mantises, ladybugs, and spiders. These predator species of insects feast on the bugs who like to ruin your tomatoes, so it’s a win-win for the tomatoes (and you)!
great garden companions
Check out the Companion Garden book on Amazon.
This is also why it’s a great idea to interplant flowers with your vegetable plants–particularly marigolds and nasturtiums. These flowers will attract and feed beneficial pollinator insects, which will increase the fruit-set of many squashes, peas, cucumbers, tomatoes, and other veggies. Nasturtiums are edible flowers and look lovely in salads, and their nutritious root, called mashua, used to be a staple crop in South American regions.
Finally, some plants simply don’t get along, and won’t do well when they’re forced to share root space. Peppers and beans don’t like being next to each other, nor do potatoes and tomatoes (both members of the nightshade family). Peas prefer being far away from onions, and lettuces do not like to be near broccoli plants.
Here’s a great list of plants that grow well together as garden friends. Or, you can grab a copy of the Old Farmer’s Almanac.

I agree with everything…. except whenever I grow nasturtiums, they are infested with aphids. (wouldn’t eat a one). Do you have any advice for me? This also happens whenever I grow kale. I didn’t have anything friendly planted next to them, though.

I had tbe same problem as you. Ants use aphids in the same way that humans use livestock. They actually place aphids on plants. Aphids bear at an incredible pace, sucking on plants and bearing honeydew, a sweet liquid, for ants. The key to growing aphidless kale remains in the timing. Plant kale in a different garden spot than before in the fall! Kale can withstand cold westher! Harvest the kale in the spring. In that way, you avoid the aphid problem!

Get ladybugs, they eat a lot of them.
“Along with insects, ladybugs also look for pollen for a food source, so there are numerous plants you can grow to help attract them. Flowers and herbs such as cilantro, dill, fennel, caraway, yarrow, tansy, angelica, scented geraniums, coreopsis and cosmos are good choices for luring the ladybug.”

I agree with most of the article. It is true to say that mostly in nature plant don’t grow in rows, but it is not true to say that things don’t grow all clumped together. A lot of the time the same plants do naturally grow in close proximity to one another, probably because seeds drop and germinated, or the plant spreads under the ground. Also, in Australia, and I’m not sure if this happens anywhere else, there are known associations between some plants which are often found together in the wild.
But yes, the principal of randomness is also in play, and dispersal. So seeds will spread far and wide on the wind or carried by animals.
Laura
Yarrow is great for insect bites. Rub its leaves on mosquito bites, and the itchiness goes away. With no scratching, the swelling disappears more quickly.

I agree, but not for the smell. You will never be able to get rid of it once planted. It’s like planting creeping charlie or purple deadnettle.

It is best to release the lady bugs at night. They will stay closer to where you release them and the birds are asleep.

Let the ladybugs out at night for sure. Plant friendlies next to the kale. And make a soap wash to spray on the underside of the kale where the aphids stay. Use a Castile soap like Dr. Bronner’s Organic liquid Castile soap. Dilute to instructions on bottle. Works wonders for me with all plants affected by aphids. You have to reapply every week.

I had the same issue with tomatoes, i planted a clove of garlic between all the tomato plants, one tomato plant, one clove of garlic, etc.. for each row. The aphids went away in a couple of days and I was also able to grow garlic as a bonus 🙂

I believe Deborah Pawle is referring to earthworms, Vic. They burrow through the ground, aerating it and adding to its fertility with their droppings. The tomato horn worm is not actually a worm; it is a caterpillar. Don’t mean to start a firestorm; just could not resist.

I always have tomato hornworms. They turn into a huge moth but I can’t off hand think of what they are called. I put some in a jar and watched them. They are ravenous eaters, constantly eating the leaves and I don’t remember how long it takes them to pass but I think it’s about every 10 minutes and out of the other end comes the poop until they get ready to morph.

Worms don’t become moths. Caterpillars do. Common name might be hornworm, but it’s not an actual worm.

If it’s self- rising flour that works and not regular flour, then it might be the baking powder in it that is the deterrent. But you’d have to check on that.

Diatomaceous earth is good for a lot of things.
Human grade is real good.
Don’t inhale it

diatomaceous earth is indiscriminate. It will kill beneficial insects. Bees, Lady bugs, praying mantis. You best bet might be (like someone previously stated) release the lady bugs at night, or get praying mantis.

I was thinking that too!!
And here is a little bio lesson for everyone who said “just wash it off”. Would you eat Kale if someone had dusted it with poison and then said “just wash it off”? Are you sure there isn’t any hiding in a leaf somewhere? Gluten is capable of causing intestinal damage at just over 20 parts per MILLION. Not immediate death, but the diarrhea and cramping you get could make you want to die. And for JL…Celiac Disease is an autoimmune disorder, not and allergy or something caused or cured by eating anything organic.

This mixture kills aphids on contact and does not hurt your plants. I have done this for years with great success. Avoid doing this during the heat of the day.

Diatomaceous earth helps with aphids and just about every other kind of bug, totally non toxic-make sure to get food grade, not the stuff for pool filters. Also helps re-mineralize soil.
My trick for crawly bugs–we get japanese beetles and stinkbugs a lot–is the vacuum cleaner. Just get the extension cord and go suck ’em up. Yes, the neighbors thinks I’m nuts, but they thought that anyway.

It’s good to have a trap crop for aphids, to keep them off other plants. When they get full carefully put a plastic bag around plant and pull it out of ground, while keeping all the bugs in. Tie it tight and put in trash can, never in compost. Kale is a great trap crop too.

This works on my strawberry plants and nasturtium, two cups of fresh mint chopped, two whole heads of garlic pealed and chopped, two table spoons of chilli powder, blend and bring to boil in 2 litres of water. Then leave mix over night to stand, ( if you can cook and leave out doors to stand because it will also smell out the house!), Drain out the bits and put the liquid in a spray bottle. Stroke the leaves to one side and try to spray the bottom of the leaves!

The headline/hook of the article is that tomatoes are not companion plants to cucumbers because they are part of the cucurbit family, yet cucumbers are not in the “foe” column adjacent to tomatoes. Additionally, Brussels sprouts, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, corn, and kale are not cucurbitae either.

Yes, I too was wondering why tomatoes and cucumber weren’t listed in each other’s “foe” category. Would the author of the article please address this?

I had a problem with gnats in the soil of the plants that I had bought from the store. I didn’t want to throw them out because they were beautiful. I tried everything to cure the problem, and ended up throwing out even my beautiful houseplants that I had raised for years. Does anyone know how to definitely get rid of gnats in the soil.

The statement that tomatoes don’t like cucumbers is contradictory to the list given at the end of the article. No where in the list of companion plants does it state that either are a foe of the other. I’m going to try it this summer and see what kind of results I get.

My biggest problems in the garden seem to be squash bugs and Japanese beetles. Is there any way to get rid of squash bugs besides going out and picking them off every day? And the Japanese beetles overrun the garden and decimate the leaves of my plants before they disappear for the season. Any suggestions?

Companion planting is a great idea. What I like to do also is NOT plant the same thing in a long row, I consider that an invitation to beasties so my garden isn’t neat and orderly, but it sure is beautiful. Have been organic gardening since I was ten years old, that’s 62 years. Still love it!

Interesting, tomatoes hate cucumbers? I have always grown them together with no issues. This year most people in the area had a poor tomato season, I on the other hand had a bumper crop. The tomatoes are finished now however the cucumbers are still producing with the second of 2 planted just getting started (strategically positioned to slow growth).
I have never fully paid attention to these so called facts as quite often the reverse seems to occur i.e. no success starting companion plantings. I have tried planting basil near tomatoes and sure they grow but a bit lacklustre. I planted basil this year in a separate location and it took off.
I actually believe the scientists stance on the world “the only real fact is there are no facts”. I prefer to think of this type of information as a guide. Try it, if it isn’t successful, think outside the box i.e. do what you think is right and works for you.

Scientists Find Root That Kills 98% Of Cancer Cells In Only 48 Hours
Scientists Find Root That Kills 98% Of Cancer Cells In Only 48 Hours: This root has been used medicinally since ancient times for its various health benefits. However, the most powerful benefit to come out of this common weed is something that medical researchers are super excited to have “discovered” – which is its potential to cure cancer! This potent root builds up blood and immune system- cures prostate, lung, and other cancers better than chemotherapy. According to Dr. Carolyn Hamm from the Windsor Regional Cancer Centre in Ontario, Canada, dandelion root extract was the only thing that helped with chronic myelomonocytic leukemia. This form of cancer typically affects older adults. John Di Carlo, who at the time was a 72-year old cancer patient at the hospital, was sent home to live out his final days after all efforts failed to treat his leukemia.
SCROLL DOWN FOR VIDEO
He told CBC News that he was advised to drink dandelion root tea as a last ditch effort. Perhaps it should have been the first option offered in his treatment plan, as his cancer went into remission only four months later! His doctors attributed this to the dandelion tea that he drank. Recent studies have shown that dandelion root extract can work very quickly on cancer cells, as was evidenced in Di Carlo’s case. Within 48 hours of coming into contact with the extract, cancerous cells begin to disintegrate. The body happily replaces these with healthy new cells. Further studies have concluded that the extract also has anti-cancer benefits for other types of cancer, including breast, colon, prostate, liver, and lung cancer! Dandelion root tea may not taste as pleasant as other teas, but it’s certainly more pleasant than living with the side effects of chemotherapy or radiation treatments. Traditional cancer therapies harm the immune system by killing all cells, even the healthy ones. Dandelion root has the opposite effect – it actually helps boost your immune system and only targets the unhealthy cells. It’s definitely a win-win situation! Dr. Hamm warns, however, that dandelion root extract can negatively impact the effects of chemotherapy. It’s always best to consult with your doctor, and let them know any and all supplements or foods that you are consuming on a regular basis. Even if you don’t have cancer, eating the greens or drinking dandelion tea can still give you great health! For example, the roots and stems of dandelion can help fight diabetes. It does this by stimulating the pancreas to produce insulin, which in turn stabilizes the spikes in blood sugar levels.
If you suffer from digestive issues or need to get rid of toxins, dandelion tea may be just what the herbal medicine doctor ordered! The liver aids the digestive system by producing bile, and it also filters the blood of chemicals and other impurities. According to Dr. Axe, the vitamins and minerals found in dandelions can help cleanse the liver and keep it in tip top shape. So by supporting your liver, you are actually creating better health! Dandelions are also high in antioxidants and vitamin C, which is crucial to helping your body fight off infections, such as the bacteria that cause urinary tract infections. If you suffer from frequent bouts of UTI, drinking dandelion tea on a daily basis may prevent it from happening ever again. Dandelion greens are bitter, but completely edible – as long as you get it from an area that hasn’t been sprayed with chemicals. The greens are rich in fiber, which is great for intestinal health! High fiber diets have also been shown to reduce the risk of obesity, heart disease, and irritable bowel syndrome. The greens are also high in vitamin A – just one cup contains 100% of your recommended daily allowance. Vitamin A is critical for maintaining healthy vision, and it can also prevent premature aging of the skin. Also read: Your Body Is Acidic. Here Is What You Need To Do (The Real Truth Behind Cancer You Will Never Hear From Your Doctor) Since you probably aren’t likely to eat an entire cup of bitter greens on its own, you can incorporate it into a morning smoothie. Just blend it up with your favorite fruit, which will offset the bitter taste.

THE CHICKEN MEAT IS FULL OF ARSENIC!

The FDA has issued its newest report stating what we all knew for so long and finally admitting that the chicken meat sold on the market is loaded with arsenic. Arsenic is one of the most toxic chemicals and it has been associated with many serious diseases like cancer. It`s been a long time that people speculate about this, but now it`s official.
To make the matter even worse, the new report, issued by the IATP, claims that this toxin is actually deliberately injected in the meat. According to this report 70% of the chickens in America contain high amounts of arsenic. Arsenic is injected in the chickens to make them bigger.
According to the FDA, half of the tested chickens were found positive on arsenic and the toxin was found mostly in the liver. The type of arsenic used for the chickens is known as Roxarsone. This drug is produced by the company Pfizer and the FDA asked the company to stop the production of this drug.
The FDA, even after this shocking discovery, continues claiming that the amount of arsenic injected in the meat is not harmful and within the limits that are allowed and that the chicken meat is safe for consumption. On the other hand, a lot of studies show that arsenic is very harmful neurotoxin and carcinogen chemical.
A study also shows that arsenic is as harmful as lead and mercury and it can impair the normal development of the fetus in pregnant women. The study also shows that arsenic is even 4 times more harmful and poisonous than mercury and much more dangerous than any other heavy metal.
According to another study arsenic is associated with respiratory problems, bladder and liver damage, basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma. Even though the FDA claims that small amount of this toxin in the meat is nothing to worry about since is not dangerous, it`s always better to consume organic meat. Note – we have been advised to state that the information in this article is not applicable to type 1 diabetics. If you have type 1 diabetes please consult your doctor before making dietary changes. Located just below the stomach, the pancreas plays an important role in the human body – keeping our blood sugar levels at normal levels. When blood sugar becomes too high, it affects other parts of our body, slowing our healing and damaging our blood vessels. This is why problems with the pancreas often translate to type 2 diabetes, a condition where the body is unable to control the amount of glucose circulating in the blood stream.
Because the pancreas is very easily damaged by an unhealthy diet, there are certain food items that you can include in your meals and snacks to boost its health. Scientific studies have indicated that a diet rich in fruits and vegetables is inversely associated with pancreatic cancer (reduces risk).
#1: Broccoli
Broccoli is one of the healthiest vegetables out on the market. Rich with antioxidants and a substance called sulforaphane, broccoli is able to reduce serum cholesterol, insulin resistance, and oxidative stress – all contributing factors to pancreatic damage. [1] Another study in 2012 was able to prove that broccoli supplementation significantly reduced levels of serum insulin concentration among diabetic patients. [2]
#2: Garlic
Garlic is not only good for cardiovascular health, it is also an excellent food item that has anti-hyperglycemic and lipid-lowering properties – properties that improve the glycemic control and pancreatic health. In a 2013 study, garlic capsules (with and without metformin intake) was able to improve fasting blood glucose levels. [3]
#3: Red Grapes
The next time you make a salad, think of adding in some red grapes! Red grapes have high levels of polyphenols and reserveratrol, two substances that improve carbohydrate metabolism in the body and glucose transport into the cells. They are able to effectively moderate the insulin sensitivity of the pancreas. [4][5]
#4: Blueberries And Cherries
Despite popular belief that fruit intake increases blood sugar levels and is bad for people affected by diabetics, it is actually the opposite! A 2014 Finnish study revealed that intake of berries in particular, was able to reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes. [6] This can be attributed to the anti-inflammatory properties of berries, which reduces vascular damage to the pancreas caused by diabetes. [7]
#5: Red Reishi Mushrooms
Used in traditional Asian medicine for hundreds of years, the red reishi mushroom was a popular choice among royalty and the upperclass to manage a variety of ailments. Because of its anti-inflammatory properties, it may be able to prevent the inflammation of pancreatic tissue which can lead to cancer. [8]
#6: Sweet Potatoes
Sweet potatoes are not only a good source of much need carbs, they also are thought to have significants benefits for pancreatic health. An astonishing study published in 2000 revealed that sweet potato intake was able to regranulate pancreatic islet B-cells, which are responsible for insulin production. [9]
#7: Tomato / Tomato Soup
One of the biggest lifestyle contributors in preventing pancreatic cancer is the intake of fruit and vegetables. Tomatoes are very high in lycopene, which is regarded as a potent cancer-fighting agent able to reduce your risk for pancreatic cancer. [10]
#8: Spinach
A substance found in spinach called MGDG (monogalactosyl diacylglycerol) is a potent cancer-fighting substance because it inhibits DNA replication in cancer cells. A 2013 study revealed that it was able to slow the growth of cancer cells in the pancreas, as well as promote cancer cell death or apoptosis. Note that this was an in vitro study and the bioavailability of the spinach compound after digestion was not ascertained. [11]
#9: Tofu
Protein malnutrition is one of the most dangerous effects of pancreatic cancer. To build up protein without causing damage to other parts of the body can be tricky. Tofu is a good source of much needed protein without the harmful effects of having too much meat in the diet.
#10: Natural Yogurt
Natural yogurt is an excellent source of calcium, with the additional benefits of probiotics which help prevent infections and boost the body’s immune system. This is one of the most natural ways to protect the pancreas and prevent damage to the pancreatic tissue.

growing stevia in the gardenGrow stevia for its sweet leaves and for the green color it brings to your herb garden.
Stevia is a pretty, green plant that looks a little like some of the flowering salvias.
In the Garden
Although stevia (Stevia rebaudiana) looks like an average green plant, it is an exciting choice for the herb garden because of the natural, calorie-free sweetness found in its leaves. Appreciated by diabetics and dieters, stevia is a tender perennial that loves the warm sun and dies back in a freeze. However, in zones 9 and warmer, the roots usually survive the winter and will come back in the spring. It can overwinter in zone 8, too, with protection. Gardeners in frost-free areas enjoy growing stevia year-round, allowing it to grow into a small shrub. However, vigor declines after the second year, so if you want to harvest the maximum amount of foliage, it pays to replant.
If you garden in containers, give your stevia plant at least a 12-inch pot with a quality potting mix. Place it in full sun, and water whenever the top inch of potting soil feels dry.
Soil, Planting, and Care
Plant your stevia so that it has about 18 inches of room to call its own. In the loose, loamy, well-drained soil that the plant prefers, it will grow 1 to 3 feet in height, depending on the length of your growing season. Wait until after all danger of frost has passed before planting. Feed with compost or Bonnie Herb and Vegetable Plant Food as directed on the label. Mulch to prevent the plant from drying out on hot summer days. Container-grown plants will benefit from the same plant food and mulch.
Troubleshooting
Stevia doesn’t like soggy soil, so make sure that it has good drainage, or the roots could rot. A sure sign of rot is wilting from which the plant doesn’t recover after watering. Fortunately, few insects bother stevia plants.
Harvest and Storage
When your stevia plant blooms in fall, trim off the flowers and the plant will make more leaves.
Stevia bears small white flowers in the fall. At this point, the plant stretches out and offers fewer good leaves for harvest. Trim off the blooms to keep the plant producing leaves as long as possible.
Leaves are sweetest in the cool temperatures of autumn. They also taste best prior to the plant blooming.
To preserve summer’s plenty and to make stevia convenient to use, dry it. Cut whole stems and then strip the leaves and tender stem tips. Place these on loosely woven fabric or non-metal screening outdoors on a dry, sunny day. One day should be long enough to dry the leaves; be sure to bring them in before the dew dampens them again. You can also use a food dehydrator if you have one. Once the leaves are crisp, crush them by hand or powder them with a food processor. Store in an airtight container. While the powdered leaves will not dissolve, they are a wonderful way to sweeten your beverages and foods.
Uses
Stevia leaves can be used to sweeten tea and other drinks.
Stevia is grown for its leaves that give food and beverages sweet taste without the calories of sugar.
Use the fresh leaves during the growing season to sweeten tea. The sweetness in the leaves is approximately one-fourth as concentrated as the white, powdered stevia sold at the store.
When sweetening with powdered leaves, use about 1/8 teaspoon of dried stevia to equal the sweetness of 1 teaspoon of sugar. Remember, while stevia will withstand the heat of cooking, it will not caramelize like sugar or feed yeast for breads.

You can find it in any health store as powder and liquid. Also, it is good for diabetics , obese people and those with hypertension. Also nourishes the skin and is in many cosmetics. Dermatitis and acne is cured this way.
HOW TO GROW THIS AT HOME?
Stevia grows in low heat and warm climate, also survives zone 9 in winter and grows again during spring. With good protection it reaches even zone 8.
For container growing, get 12 inch pot and good soil. Put this in lit area and the top must be dry.
SOIL, PLANTING, CARE
If it is planted in loose, drained and loamy soil, it can reach 3 metres depending on the season. Before planting this, remove all frost. In the soil put veggie plant food or maybe Bonnie Herb to stop damage in the summer as well.
TROUBLESHOOTING
Stevia is not good with soggy soil so drain soil to prevent rotting roots. If wilts, cannot be saved with water and is useless.
STORAGE AND HARVESTING
When a bloom appears, remove petals and more leaves will follow. In fall, stevia gives white flowers and a few leaves. Trim and cut the blooms.
The leaves are sweeter as fall ends and taste amazing before blooming. Dry them and make powder stevia. Stem is cut and leaves too, but striped. Spread them on fabric and outdoors.
One day is perfect for drying them out and then bring them inside to keep them safe from dew. Use dehydrator too for dry leaves, then crush them, grind them and replace sugar with this!

The only way to lower the risk of developing some of these diseases is to change the diet and start consuming more natural foods. <a href="https://healthyfoodwhisperer.com/heart-surgeon-reveals-real-cause-heart-disease/"> In order to reduce and eliminate the inflammation consume more carbs from vegetables and fruits and use olive oil or grass-fed butter instead of sunflower or soybean oils for cooking. In order to improve the overall health and to reduce and eliminate inflammation the main thing to do is to avoid processed foods and consume home cooked meals with plenty of natural ingredients, vegetables and fruits. HEART SURGEON REVEALS THE REAL CAUSE OF HEART DISEASE! Health Tips
For decades doctors and surgeons have claimed that high cholesterol is the cause of heart diseases. All this time, high cholesterols was treated with medications for reducing the levels of cholesterol and with diet based on low fat intake. But, scientists have recently discovered that heart disease is not caused by high cholesterol levels. The real cause is something way different from cholesterol.
This recent research showed that the real reason for heart disease is arterial inflammation. This discovery shook up the medical community. The dietary recommendations have created even bigger problems because they resulted in a worldwide epidemic of diabetes and obesity. The statistics show that in the USA only, ¼ of the adult population takes medications for lowering the cholesterol or statins. The same data also show that in the USA 75 million citizens suffer from heart disease and 20 million from diabetes. Each year the number of young patients suffering from heart disease is rising and this is clearly showing that cholesterol is not the reason for this type of diseases.
The real cause is the inflammation. The inflammation is actually very beneficial because it`s the natural reaction of the body to invaders. Since we are constantly exposed to toxins the body is not able to fight and process all the foreign invaders and the inflammation becomes chronic. This condition has direct consequences to the health and heart.
Unfortunately, we are the ones causing the chronic inflammation with the unhealthy lifestyle and unhealthy diet. The constant consumption of inflammatory products and foods rich in fat and sugar is harmful for the health. This type of diet leads to development of chronic inflammation and different diseases like diabetes and heart diseases. Another factor for the increased numbers of heart disease patients is the low fat diet which is highly recommended as a treatment for high cholesterol levels.
The unhealthy foods that we all consume almost daily are causing big damage to our health. It doesn’t matter where and how the inflammation is caused, what matters is that the inflammation can and will damage the health seriously. These types of foods affect the arteries and bit by bit the inflammation increases and serious medical conditions occur as a result.
The cinnamon rolls, for example, are maybe the worst food for the health. They contain high amounts of carbs and sugar which increase the risk of many medical conditions and diseases. The consumption of sweets and sugar increases the levels of sugar in the blood vary fast. This causes the pancreas to produce insulin which is a hormone that regulates the levels of glucose in the blood. This causes a chain reaction. The constant intake of sugar makes the pancreas to produce high amounts of insulin which results in high amounts of glucose which, on the other hand, gets converted into fat. The sugar molecules attach themselves to the proteins which can damage the artery walls causing increase of the inflammation and in time it can damage the blood vessels beyond repair.
The sweet rolls also contain high amounts of omega 6 fatty acids because they are usually baked in soybean oil. This type of oil contains high amounts of these acids which are used for increasing the shelf life of the products. Although omega 6 acids are beneficial, they must be in perfect balance in the body with the omega 3 acids. If these acids are not balanced, the inflammation will increase due to the production of cytokines produced by the cellular membranes.
The ratio of omega 6 and omega 3 fatty acids in the western diet is 30:1. This diet is extremely high on omega 6 fatty acids and this is really concerning. This type of diet increases the weight and the risk of diabetes and heart diseases.
Increasing the intake of processed foods increases the risk of cancer, diabetes, obesity and heart disease. The only way to lower the risk of developing some of these diseases is to change the diet and start consuming more natural foods. In order to reduce and eliminate the inflammation consume more carbs from vegetables and fruits and use olive oil or grass-fed butter instead of sunflower or soybean oils for cooking.
Animal fat or saturated fat shouldn’t be excluded from the diet because they don’t cause heart diseases. They contain low amounts of omega 6 acids, so they don’t cause inflammation. Saturated fat doesn’t affect and increase the levels of cholesterol in the blood also.
The low fat diet has caused much worse conditions. Controlling the cholesterol with this diet has increased the numbers of heart diseases patients worldwide. In order to improve the overall health and to reduce and eliminate inflammation the main thing to do is to avoid processed foods and consume home cooked meals with plenty of natural ingredients, vegetables and fruits.</a>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00788063622943622685noreply@blogger.com0
